Farmers are asking for increased Garda numbers to tackle rural crime.
They say gangs of men and dogs are coming onto private land and working farms across the country - to threaten families and livestock.
IFA Deputy President Brian Rushe says hundreds of farmers have attended meetings up and down the country to share information and express serious fears for their safety.
"Sure, the key is resources and in fairness to the guards which we work quite closely with and in the association, they're doing their best with the resources they have, but there is definitely a shortage of resources in rural Ireland, and that is like Garda visibility is key. So what are they can we all know is when you have guards in the city centre and the town, crime will reduce, and the same applies with rural Ireland as well."
