Cork is one of the most expensive places to go to college.
New research from switcher.ie shows it costs an average of €17, 369 per year to study here.
Speaking to RedFM News, Alex Fuertes Roper from UCC Students’ Union says students must rely on their parents or large loans to finance their college education:
"In regards to the price, you end up having parents paying a lot of it, paying incredible amounts of money that they themselves cannot afford. If my parents were not as financial secure as they were there, it would have been extremely difficult and there could have been a consideration of me leaving college. You have students taking out loans."
