Dublin woman Violet Gibson, who attempted to assassinate Fascist Dictator Benito Mussolini, has been commemorated with a plaque on Merrion Square.
The memorial was unveiled by Dublin city council outside her childhood home almost 100 years after the shooting.
In 1926, the 50 year-old shot Mussolini at point blank range in Rome, grazing his nose before the gun jammed.
She was deported to England and spent the rest of her life in a psychiatric hospital.
