Cork Simon says large increases to rent prices in the city and county are extremely concerning.
Daft.ie research shows the average asking prices of rent in the city are over €2,200 - up almost 12% on last year - while it's over €1,600 in the county - a 7% increase.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon says renters have no other option than to spend most of their income on accommodation:
"Very concerning news. I mean the rents have been increasing month-on-month now for over four and a half years and at an average rent in Cork of over €2,000 a month, that's about two-thirds of the average salary, the average annual salary, and anyone who has to spend two-thirds of their income on their housing costs are in a really vulnerable position."
