UNICEF says children fleeing war in Ukraine are at heightened risk of trafficking and exploitation
It's warning that traffickers often seek to exploit the chaos of large-scale population movements.
More than 1.5 million children have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion.
UNICEF spokesperson Joe English, who's in Lviv in western Ukraine, says children are in grave danger:
"The concerns are huge, you know, in terms of inside the country, it's children being killed, children being maimed, schools, hospitals, homes, places where children are meant to feel safe, you know, coming under attack, and for those who have fled into the relative safety of neighbouring countries, the challenges don't stop there. You know, there is a very real risk of children being trafficked or separated from their parents or becoming exploited or abused."
