Israel has launched dozens of airstrikes against nuclear targets inside Iran.
The Israeli President, Isaac Herzog, says they were vital because of the nuclear threat posed by Tehran, while Iran's supreme leader has warned Israel will face a "severe punishment".
Professor Matthew Bunn is a nuclear expert, and believes the attack will make the potential for retaliation more of a reality:
"I think this will make Iran more determined that it needs to move directly towards producing nuclear weapons. My guess is that it will try to rebuild its programme in secret locations."
