Ukrainian refugees living in Ireland may be interviewed to gather evidence as part of investigations into Russian war crimes.
It'll be based on a similar initiative in Germany and involve refugees who've settled here being given a specialist questionnaire.
The International Criminal Court is currently looking into potential war crimes by Russia.
22,000 people fleeing the war have arrived in Ireland so far.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee, says they'll have the option to document their experiences.
"Once people have time to settle, we'd have to re engage with them on other issues anyway so it would be. I suppose an opportunity for us then, if people want to and again it's about whether people want to or not
"If they want to tell their story if they want to say what they've seen that information would be absolutely vital and crucial and making sure that that evidence is given to the ICC and the people are brought to justice."
