Maui County's confirmed at least 93 deaths after wildfires across Hawaii became the deadliest in the US for a century.

Sniffer dogs are being used to search for victims in the ruins of Lahaina the worst affected area.

Authorities are urging people with missing family members to give DNA samples to help them identify those who've died.

Ace Yabes, who lives in the town, says he's searching for nine relatives:

"I've been to a lot of hotels, none of them are there, we've been to police station, we called Red Cross, anywhere that we can find them but nothing, no, zero, so still waiting for the calls from the Government or Red Cross, still waiting, hoping."
