Eyewitnesses say panic ensued during Liverpool's Premier League victory parade last night when a car drove into the crowd and injured close to 50 people.
A 53-year-old local man has been arrested and Merseyside Police say the car ramming incident which hospitalised 27 people, including 4 children, is not being treated as terrorism.
RedFM's John Isherwood was at the scene when the first person was hit:
"It seemed to crush a guy between the ambulance and the car, which is then why we rused in to help, we saw this fella on the floor and rushed to help him, then we let ambulance crews get in and do their thing. But then this car set off down Water Street. And we could just see then that it was hitting other people."
