Cork Cost of Living Campaigners picketed a filling station in Blackpool last evening, demanding price controls.

Petrol prices are up 11% while diesel prices are up 30% compared to this time last year.

The group is calling for price controls on fuel and will be holding another demonstration on Saturday, 12th November on the Grand Parade at 2pm.

Speaking to RedFM News, Socialist Party member Martina Stafford says the picket got a lot of support:

"Activists and local people from the area gathered to highlight the rising fuel costs. Many people are really struggling with rising prices of food, fuel energy and really just struggling especially coming in the colder weather."
