The Taoiseach Michael Martin has said he has no issue with the principle of children aged 5 - 12 being vaccinated against Covid 19.
He made his comments following the announcement by Pfizer - BioNTech that their shot is safe and effective for children in that age group.
Rollout of the vaccine to younger children is not likely to happen in Ireland until it's use is approved by the European Medicines Agency.
