The Health Minister has ruled out a full return to working from home despite health officials saying it’s up for discussion.

The National Public Health Emergency Team is meeting this afternoon as covid cases continue to escalate.

Around 1 in every 200 people tested positive for Covid 19 over the past two weeks while 543 covid patients are in hospitals this afternoon with 97 in ICUs.

Stephen Donnelly says full remote working and extending vaccine certs aren’t being actively considered by the Government.

He says it’s all about reducing social contacts.

"It's not about identifying any given thing, be it a Christmas party, or a concert, or going to see your friends in the pub, or going around to your friend's house.

"It's about saying whatever is important to you - do that. But the things that are less important, cut back on that."
