Today marks the 36th anniversary of the disappearance of 13-year-old Philip Cairns in Dublin.
The schoolboy went missing from his home in Rathfarnham in October 1986, and his body was never found.
Paedophile Eamon Cooke was linked with the case, but the Gardaí never found physical evidence to connect him to it.
Former head of the Garda cold case unit, Alan Bailey, has renewed his appeal for information on the case:
"It's never too late to come forward, even if it's only to give a location where you believe the body had been buried or hidden. I mean, there was a female witness came forward some years back and gave a lot of information which tied the aforementioned 'Cookie Monster' into it. Now, we could never progress any further. But I mean, that lady waited thirty odd years before she felt strong enough to come forward, so, what I would say to people is if you know something, it's never too late to come forward".
