Over €5 million has been spent on Garda overtime in Cork in just the first half of this year, according to new figures.
The echo reports staff costs have risen year-on-year, with almost €3m spent in Cork city and just over €2m in the county so far this year.
It comes as Garda numbers in Cork have fallen by 52 in the past two and a half years.
