A man arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of Ian Walsh in county Tipperary is due in court this afternoon.

The body of the 49-year-old Waterford native was discovered at his home in Carrick-on-Suir after 3am on the 4th of August.

In an update this afternoon Gardaí say a man in his late teens arrested yesterday has been charged, and is expected to appear before a special sitting of Clonmel District Court at 4:30.

Gardaí entered Ian Walsh’s home on Cregg Road after concerns were raised he had not been seen since the evening of Friday the 1st of August.

The former Irish Rail worker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation was upgraded to murder following a post mortem examination at University Hospital Waterford.
