The Government is examining giving households a further energy credit later in the year, and reducing taxes and charges

Both the Taoiseach and Tanaiste have suggested further measures are being considered to combat the rising cost of living.

Every household in the country is to receive 100 euro off their electricity bills next month.

But political reporter with the Irish Times, Jack Horgan-Jones says that could be repeated by the summer:

"Perhaps another energy subsidy perhaps another one later on in the Spring or into the Summer or perhaps something more focused on the kinds of things that government levies on you, those taxes and fees and charges, that are directly levied by government."
