Students and civil society groups will march to Leinster House today, calling for politicians to take emergency action on the climate crisis.

Trinity students are organising the demonstration against the backdrop of the Cop27 climate summit in Egypt.

They want protestors to bring clocks, to highlight how crucial the next 6 years are for implementing changes before they say Earth reaches a point of no return from runaway climate change.

Climate Scientist Naomi Sheehan says time is running out:

"The climate clock reads that we are six years and 252 days until 1.5 degrees Celsius APL which is the Paris Agreement, maximum target, unfortunately, six years and 252 days is not a very long time."
