There has been an increase in cases of speeding since the pandemic, according to the Road Safety Authority..

Speeding fines are going up from 80 to 160 euro from midnight tonight.

In total, sixteen fixed charge penalty notices will increase, including fines for using a mobile phone and not wearing a seatbelt.

123 people have been killed on Irish roads so far this year, up 12 on the same time last year.
