A warning's going out to motorists to take care when meeting horse riders on the roads.
The Road Safety Authority and Gardaí are advising drivers to 'Pass Wide and Slow' in a joint Bank Holiday Appeal.
A survey of over 1,700 horse riders found cars and jeeps had the highest percentage of reported incidents with horses on the roads.
