Dublin Airport wants to build a two-lane tunnel under one of its runways.

It's lodged a planning application for the €200 million underpass that will allow airport vehicles, such as steps and catering trucks, to move between the Eastern Campus and the West Apron.

The DAA says it's critical to improve access and safety now the new north runway is in operation.
