UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Liam Neeson is leading a global message of thanks to the scientists, parents, health workers and others who have helped to immunize children over the last two decades.

As World Immunization Week gets underway, every like, share, or comment on posts mentioning a UNICEF social media account, using the hashtag #longlifeforall from now until May 10th, will unlock one US dollar for UNICEF.

UNICEF CEO Peter Power, says however despite the successes, millions of children missed out on vaccinations in 2020:

"Well UNICEF estimates that childhood vaccinations save the lives of 3 million children every year. But unfortunately, 17 million children missed out on their vaccinations against measles, polio and so forth during the pandemic, and so World Immunisation Week we're trying to make up a lot of lost ground. And ensure that every child in the world receives their vaccinations".
