An EU mental health strategy is badly needed to protect people's mental health.

That's according to a Fine Gael MEP who authored a European Parliament report looking at the impact of the Covid pandemic.

It also looked at remote working and teleworking.

MEP Maria Walsh is looking for action to be taken on the issue:

"A new EU mental health strategy is badly needed and that's what was called for in the report. An EU Year dedicated to mental health next year that I'm very much putting pressure on the Commission to announce very soon. As well as looking at and re-adopting the Right to Disconnect legislation to make sure that we are not just learning the lessons from Covid but also future-proofing for generations to come".
