A group of women living in direct provision have launched a campaign entitled "My Rights, My Privacy".

The campaign calls for the human rights and privacy of those seeking asylum to be respected.

The Echo reported that human rights concerns raised by people living in direct provision centres have included allegations of unannounced inspections, the opening of private letters and more than two people being asked to share a room.

There are currently 700 people living in direct provision centres in Cork.
