The shortlist for Ireland's Favourite Roast has been announced and the Elm Tree, Glouthaune and The Barn, Glanmire have been nominated in the Munster region along with three other venues. The Elm Tree is a previous winner of the competition on a number of occasions while The Barn is a first-time entrant.

In total, there are 15 venues across the county, which will be mystery dined over the coming weeks.

The competition, run in association with KNORR, will see The Elm Tree and The Barn and the other venues scored on the quality and taste of their carvery offering as well as value for money. The carvery is an Irish culinary institution with venues cooking and serving the finest locally sourced meat and veg accompanied, of course, by the tastiest gravy.
