Pobalscoil na Tríonóide hosted the inaugural SkillsFest ‘24/ FéileScileanna’24 Competition.

The event welcomed secondary schools from East Cork and West Waterford to highlight vocational skills.

SkillsFest ‘24/FéileScileanna’24 provided a platform for students to showcase their talents across seven distinct categories:

  • Construction
  • Information Technology (LCA)
  • Engineering
  • Art (LCA)
  • Hair & Beauty (LCA)
  • Home Economics
  • Design and Graphics

Participants from various schools met like-minded students while demonstrating their expertise in their chosen fields.

Séamus Ó Ceallacháin, Principal at Pobalscoil na Tríonóide says "This event was a fantastic opportunity for 5th-year and LCA students to shine, fostering their creativity and igniting their curiosity. SkillsFest ‘24/ FéileScileanna’24 serves as a testament to the dedication and talent of our youth in East Cork and West Waterford. Pobalscoil na Tríonóide extends heartfelt gratitude to TOMAR Trust and PJ Hegarty for their generous sponsorship of this innovative initiative. Prizes to the value of €3,500 along with a handmade trophy was awarded to 1st/ 2nd and 3rd place teams in all categories from all schools. The unwavering support of TOMAR Trust has played a pivotal role in bringing SkillsFest ‘24/ FéileScileanna’24 to fruition, empowering young individuals to explore and excel in their vocational interests. Furthermore, Pobalscoil na Tríonóide acknowledges the invaluable contributions and endorsement of SOLAS and the NAPD. Their support has been instrumental in promoting and advocating for the importance of vocational education and skill development among youth".
