Motorists are being urged to drive with caution this morning following torrential rain in the City and County yesterday.
Cork City Council and County Council crews responded to localised flooding in Mallow, Midleton, the Commons and Tramore Road while Gardai responded to a multi vehicle collision near carrigtwohil and another crash at the kinsale road roundabout.
it comes as Met Eireann issued a status Orange warning for Cork, Kilkenny, Waterford and Tipperary which ended late yesterday.
The rest of the country was under a status yellow warning until midnight.
Road condition have been described as dangerous in some areas.
Brian Farrell of the Road Safety Authority is appealing to motorists to drive with caution and to expect the unexpected:
"Well the obvious challenges that drivers and motorists will face this morning is the risk of wet roads. Possibly flooded roads. The risk is aquaplaning on rural roads and country roads where you'll find dips in the road does a risk of flooding and it is so important not to try and drive 20 flooded roads."
