Met Éireann warning of the possibility of power cuts and travel disruption in the coming days

A status Yellow wind and rain warning will be in place for Cork and the rest of Munster from 6pm.

The forecaster is warning of the possibility of spot flooding and gusts of between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour from this evening up to midnight.

A Yellow wind warning is also in place from 5am Thursday until 2am on Friday.

Power outages and travel disruption is possible tomorrow due to high winds and hail showers.

Road users are being advised to slow down due to potential spot flooding and debris on the roads.

Met Éireann says winds will be particularly strong around the coast from today until Friday.

Flood barriers in Fermoy are being put up this evening by the County Council, while Cork City Council say they do not expect any tidal flooding in the city over the coming days.
