Cork County Council's Severe Weather Assessment Team met today after Met Eireann issued an Orange Wind Warning for Cork

The wind warning is in effect from 7am to 5pm on Saturday as Storm Kathleen makes landfall

The storm will bring gale force southerly winds, with some severe and damaging gusts.

Storm Kathleen is expected to lead to fallen trees, coastal flooding and difficult travel conditions across Cork

The County Council is advising members of the public to stay high and dry and away from the coast, rivers and lakes.

Dursey Cable Car will be closed on Saturday and will return to operation only when wind speeds permit

Issues such as fallen trees, flooding and road damage should be reported to the Council’s Emergency Out of Hours number (021) 4800048 over the weekend.
