A Cork East TD says he will continue to keep the pressure on the Government for a detailed health and safety review into procedures at Stryker.

Sinn Fein's Pat Buckley says the latest incident at the Carrigtwowhill plant last Tuesday shows the need for a full safety audit of the company's facilities.

A 41 year old man was critically injured when a fire broke out on the roof of the company's Anngrove building, while the Tullagreen facility was evacuated after another fire broke out last week - no-one was injured in that incident.

SIPTU say their members at Stryker's plants in Carrigtwohill have raised health and safety issues in the past and now have expressed "grave concern" about their safety

Speaking to RedFM News, Pat Buckley says workers are demanding the right to work in a safe environment:

"There has to be a root and branch review of the health and safety measures, and the procedures within the HSA, which I have looked for. I did request that the Minister do a full review of the HSA and all the reports on the Stryker facilities from 2019 to the present day. I did get an assurance on that so I will be following up on that".
