69 thousand cars are taken off Cork roads each day by people who choose to walk or cycle.

A new survey by the National Transport Authority shows 52 percent of people in Cork walk or cycle at least 5 times a week.

Meanwhile 18 percent of people cycle at least once a week.

680-thousand cars are taken off the road in Ireland's five largest cities everyday by people choosing to walk or cycle.

The annual economic benefit of people walking or cycling in Cork, Dublin,  Galway, Limerick and Waterford is 3 billion euro.
