UCC has become the first third-level institute in Ireland to appoint a support officer who will work with local residents and students.
The Magazine Road and Surrounding Area's Resident's Association say they have been happier since restrictions have been lifted and students can now attend bars and nightclubs.
Gardaí told the committee that they will be not be tolerating any antisocial behaviour and will have extra Gardaí patrolling on busy nights such as RAG week.
