Cork's Denise O'Sullivan says the Pinatar Cup was ideal preparation for their World Cup Qualifiers.

The Girls In Green rounded off their campaign with a 1-0 win over Wales in the the third place playoff yesterday, O'Sullivan scoring the game's only goal in the first half.

Ireland resume their World Cup qualifying campaign away to Sweden on April the 12th and O’Sullivan says their week in Spain has been ideal preparation.

"I think this week was fully about Sweden and all our focus was on it and I think it was great as well to rotate a team in the in the second game and just get those girls  more confidence going into Sweden game as well.

"It's about Sweden game now. I think we can take a lot of positives out of it.  I think we also can work on a lot of things as well as a team.

"So, full focus on Sweden, I think we're in a really good place."

Manager Vera Pauw says she's pleased with the experience gained by her team at the Pinatar Cup.

Pauw says it was important to get a look at her entire squad in game situations ahead of resuming their World Cup qualifier campaign:

"If we want to have a long time on the pitch for training, then we should take a doubleheader, but we wanted to have games we wanted to the second string also have the opportunity to play a full game.

"We have said that we would play the strongest, but we think in the best balance today that we would only swap if we needed, but Eve [Badana] was an exception because she did not play the second game and everybody got game time."
