Police in the North have scrapped their plans to change the branding of the PSNI following backlash online.

A proposal to remove the words Northern Ireland from stations, uniforms and vehicles received political criticism.

The new logos were revealed last week which displayed the words Police Service NI.

However, last night it was announced that it would not be going ahead, but that there is a focus to move away from the acronym PSNI.
