New figures show inbound tourism will be more than 80 per cent of what it was in 2019.

The tourism body has unveiled a new recovery plan which aims to address the major staffing crisis in the hospitality sector.

Failte Ireland's Director of Sector Development Jenny De Saulles believes overseas tourism is set to 'bounce back' quite quickly:

"You know, if we can get 83% of passenger numbers back up, that's a really positive number in terms of bringing our international visitors back in again, that those flight numbers and build capacity numbers are indicating that the international market is going to bounce back quite quickly. And you know, we're forecasting that the domestic market will be similar to 2019 levels this year, which is, you know, very positive because 2019 was a record year."
