The body of a man has been recovered in West Cork after a search was launched last night for a missing rock climber.
The missing man, who is believed to be in his mid 20s, was climbing on cliffs at Eastern Hall in Baltimore Harbour.
Lifeboat crews from Baltimore RNLI were scrambled as part of a multi-agency search which is being co-ordinated by Valenica Coastguard.
Two Coastguard helicopters, Rescue 115 from Shannon and Rescue 117 from Waterford joined the search last night which continued until midnight.
The search resumed at first light with West Cork divers, local fishermen, farmers and landowners all joining the operation this morning.
Valencia Coastguard has confirmed the body of a man has been successfully recovered in the past hour and is currently being brought ashore by the RNLI to Baltimore harbour.
