There's no excuse for racial abuse according to Dublin's Lord Mayor after the cast and crew of the Lion King was targeted.
In a statement, the Bord Gais Energy Theatre says it's offering support to several performers and crew members who were abused on their way home from the show.
The theatre has described the incident as vile and appalling and reported it to Gardaí.
Lord Mayor Alison Gilliland is urging anyone with information to come forward:
"'m really appalled that this happened. And I'm very sorry that it happened to the performers and crew from Bord Gais Energy Theatre recently. There's absolutely no excuse for racial abuse or harassment in our city. It's wrong."
