President Biden is due to touch down in Belfast marking the start of a four day visit.

A special 'critical incident' response will be implemented at a county Galway school today after the deaths of two young teenagers in a road crash.

The 14 year old boy and girl were killed early yesterday when the car they were in hit a tree just outside Headford.

Two other teenagers, a 13 year old boy and 14 year old girl, are still being treated for 'serious' injuries in hospital.

The issue of pay is set to dominate the annual conferences of the teachers trade unions today.

The ASTI is gathering in Wexford for its annual delegate conference, the INTO continues its congress in Killarney while the TUI meets in Cork.

Teacher shortages will also take centre stage with most schools across the country reporting difficulty recruiting and retaining teaching staff.

A weather warning comes in to effect for Cork tonight.

The status yellow wind warning comes into effect at 1am, and will be in place until 5pm tomorrow, it's also in place for CLare, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo with gusts of between 90 and 110 km per hour expected.
