34 asylum seekers were transferred to Magowna House Hotel in Inch on Monday.

2022 was the worst year for overcrowding on record, with over 121 thousand patients left waiting for a bed.

A motion is going before the Dáil today calling for Medical Assessment Units and Local Injury Units at Ireland's smaller, Level 2 hospitals to stay open 24 hours a day.

There are now over 84,000 people on hospital waiting lists in Cork.

Figures from the National Treatment Purchase Fund show that on April 27th, 84,114 were waiting for both outpatient and inpatient treatment at hospitals across the city and county.

Plans to recruit 1000 new Gardai this year are already in doubt.

The Irish Times reports the uptake of places at the training college in Templemore is 30% behind target.

225 new recruits were due to begin training last Monday, but only 154 took up their places.
