TD Paul Murphy will file a complaint about Junior Minister Niall Collins to the Standards in Public Office Commission.
Minister Collins has been at the centre of controversy relating to Limerick County Council land that was purchased by his wife in 2008.
In a statement to the Dail, he maintained no law was broken and that his attendance at a local electoral committee meeting in 2007 did not benefit his wife in any way.
People Before Profit's Paul Murphy believes he's in breach of the law and is putting a case to SIPO:
"We will continue to push for parliamentary accountability, but the government has a majority. They were backed, unfortunately, by various so called independents in opposing a question and answer session for Niall Collins. So it seems unlikely that we will get that. So certainly, I've drawn the conclusion that it is now appropriate to make a complaint to SIPO".
