Cork Chamber has expressed its disappointment at 15 percent tariffs on all EU goods exported to the US.
This morning, Enterprise Minster Peter Burke told cabinet he believes the outcome of anti-competitiveness investigations in the US will result in a maximum 15 per cent tariff on the pharmaceutical sector which employs over 20 thousand people in Cork.
Speaking to RedFM News, Conor Healy from Cork Chamber says the tariffs will bring significant challenges:
"It's very disappointing that we've ended up in this situation where we have a tariff of 15% on all imports into the US from the EU. It is a very significant number. Obviously, it could have been much more. It could have been the situation where a 30% tariff was announced in the coming days but it still brings its challenges".
