Ryanair To Close It's Bases At Cork And Shannon Airports For The Winter

The confirmation comes just two days after the government announced a €10 million fund for both airports in the budget

The airline is reducing it's winter schedule from November to March, with boss Michael O'Leary warning they may have to reduce capacity even further if travel restrictions continue.

He also said they deeply regret the cuts, which they say have been forced upon them by Government mismanagement of EU air travel.

EU member states agreed a new traffic light system for travel two days which will see countries designated green, orange or red depending on the rate of Covid-19.

Speaking to RedFM News last month, Ryanair CEO Eddie Wilson said the aviation industry has been left to fall to its knees with no support:
