The Residential Tenancies Board says all landlords are expected to comply with registering tenancies within a month.
It's after Health Minister Stephen Donnelly admitted to failing to register a Dublin rental property correctly.
He didn't renew the registration in 2019, before correcting the error last week.
The RTB says all tenancies must be registered within a month of a tenancy starting.
