Jonathan Dowdall claims Gerry Hutch lied to him when he told him the six men involved in the Regency Hotel attack didn't know each other.

The former Sinn Féin councillor is testifying against Mr. Hutch, who is on trial for the murder of David Byrne, who was shot dead at a boxing event at the hotel in 2016.

Mr. Hutch denies the charge.

After claiming yesterday that Gerry Hutch told him he was one of the men who shot David Byrne, Jonathan Dowdall resumed giving his direct evidence today.

Some clips from a conversation that was secretly recorded while Dowdall drove Mr. Hutch to and from Northern Ireland in March 2016 were played for him today.

When asked what the 'three yokes' they are heard talking about referred to, he said it was a reference to the three AK47s used during the attack.

He also claimed Gerry Hutch lied to him when he told him the six men involved in the shooting didn’t know each other.

He said they did and went on to claim they’re 'all family members and all his friends', In relation to the Hutch-Kinahan feud, he said:

'Gerry Hutch didn’t start the feud. It was Patsy’s sons. It wasn’t the Kinahans.'

He has finished giving his direct evidence and his cross-examination is now under way.
