The Government has been criticised for not investing enough into education.

Nearly 14,000 people substituted in primary and secondary schools last year, who weren't registered with the Teaching Council.

The ASTI believes most would have been student-teachers, after they were deployed to cover during the pandemic.

Teacher Jennifer Horgan, says it highlights under-investment within education.
