Fórsa Hit Out At Ryanair Shutting Cork And Shannon Bases For The Winter Without Contacting Them

The union says this morning's announcement did not allow the union time to engage with the airline.

Fórsa have described the move as a devastating blow for staff, their families and the wider region.

They're calling on the government to act now to protect the Irish aviation sector from any further cuts and say not enough was done to protect 135 jobs at the two airports.

The government announced a €10 million fund for Cork and Shannon Airports in Tuesday's budget.

However speaking to RedFM News, Niall Shanahan from Fórsa says the money is only intended for capital projects:
