Parents want the school to apologise following the request

The school told students Friday that their clothing was a distraction to male teachers.

Kacey O'Riordan reports:

'Last Friday female students were told by their year heads that they cant wear tight fitting tracksuit bottoms or tops in for PE class. They were told it was distracting to male staff, and that they should have more respect for themselves. The parents feel the school is bodyshaming their daughters.Saoirse Exton from the Irish Secondary Students Union thinks incidents like this will continue to happen. Students put up posters around the school yesterday that read Stop teaching women how to dress, instead teach men how to respect. While a boy wore leggings into school yesterday in an act of protest, a further leggings protest is planned for Friday. The school has so far not commented publicly on the issue.'
