Three young people in Carlow have become the latest to die on Irish roads.

It brings to 18 the number of people who have died since the start of the year.

An appeal is being launched ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend, which tends to be one of the most dangerous time for motorists.

Sarah O'Connor, Director of Partnerships and External Affairs at the RSA, has this advice to stay safe

"Leave extra time for their journey,  if there's heavier traffic, slow down. Take additional care of vulnerable road users. Make every attempt for drivers, motorcyclists, cyclists and pedestrians for us all to be as visible as we can be  particularly for Dawn dusk and overnight. Making sure our lights are working across any vehicle type"
