An eviction ban is needed as there is an emergency in housing.
That's the view of People Before Profit TD Brid Smith who says homelessness has gone higher than every before since the eviction ban was lifted.
The Government is looking into whether to bring in a ban on all evictions over winter due to the energy crisis.
Deputy Smith says the situation is at crisis point:
"We're witnessing a whole plethora of evictions. We're also witnessing landlords pulling out to the market, because the word is out there that housing prices are at their highest now and they will begin to fall. So there's a good {???] to sell homes and landlords can sell them without the tenants in situation which is absolutely wrong".
