A 400 euro Fuel Allowance lump sum is to be paid to households from November 14th.
The Social Protection Minister Heather Humphreys has announced the extra payment, will be paid to over 371,000 households.
She's also expanding the Fuel Allowance for over 70s from January, which will bring an extra 81,000 households into the scheme.
