The Dublin Airport Authority says it is confident that passenger delays seen recently will not happen again during the busy summer season.

This comes after Dublin Airport saw 200,000 passengers pass through the airport over the bank holiday weekend.

Concerns that a repeat of the long delays would happen again, did not occur.

DAA spokesperson, Graeme McQueen, says a lot of lessons were learned from the previous weekend:

"We had the right number of staff in place, we were able to open as many security lanes as possible across the four days. I think our new queuing system works very well, when you arrive at the terminals now, we split the passengers into two. Those who are going straight to security go to the left and those who need to check in a bag or check in for the flight at the airport, they go to the right, so that worked really well."
